Project List Midyear Check-in

How is it June already!? We set some home goals at the beginning of the year and now we’re taking a look at what’s still on the list and the new ideas I’ve been dreaming up!

Andrew and I planned four big and several smaller projects. We’ve already checked off three (!!!) of the big ones and I am so proud of the progress. We have barely done anything from the small project list, so hopefully, we can buckle down and commit to knocking those out before the holiday season starts up again!

Big Projects

1 | Stair Runners: done!

Read all about our process here.

2 | Entryway Boxes

This plan is still a go—we’re just ironing out how we are going to build and install all these boxes!

3 | Laundry Room: done!

Did you catch the post about this one? This closet is a pop of fun and such a nice surprise!

4 | TV Wall Boxes: done!

Ohhhh this is probably my favorite project to date—want the details?! Read about the DIY here!

Small Projects

Wow! So I’ve checked off one part of one small project. I painted the upstairs hallway white and slightly adjusted the console project idea…

Paint the Remaining Greige Walls White:

  • Upstairs Hallway: done!

  • Kitchen + Pantry Wall

  • Living Room

  • Stairwells

Hang Curtains in the Dining Room and Living Room

I bought this hardware in matte black and these cotton-lined linen panels for both rooms! Hopefully, we can hang these soon!!

Paint the Guest Bathroom

I still haven’t settled on a color, but I love the three options below and I am leaning towards misty… What do you think?!

Refinish the TV Console

This sweet little vintage piece is positioned right below the TV in our living room. My original idea was to replace the damaged grasscloth fabric with cane.

Since then, I’ve been daydreaming about removing the panes and adding fluted wood to the sliding doors—like this cabinetry! I am also pretty obsessed with these brass globe knobs for the drawers. We are still trying to figure out how to stain wood dowels made from a different wood species to look original to the console. Mockup of my idea below!

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Build and Install Floating Shelves in Owner’s Bathroom

Yeah, so no progress on this one… The materials are sitting in the garage, but we’ve been focusing on the big-ticket items!

Install Double Crown on the Main Level

This is not a small project and Andrew reminds me every time I bring it up. We added it to the tv wall and it looks sooo good!!!

New Projects

I am always daydreaming and talking to Andrew about the “next thing” I want to do. He is really good at saying “maybe” and pushing it further out. I also have a lot of other projects on the official to-do list for the year! These might become 2022 projects, but I am just throwing the ideas out into the universe!

The Office

This room has not been in any pictures or shown anywhere on the blog or Instagram! It’s been a “good enough” room for a while, but I’ve been working on a design to give this office a little style!

Hem the Owner’s Bedroom Curtains

I guess this is not new… these have been hanging for over a year—with pins in them. I just need to sew them!

Downstairs Bathroom

This is our third full bath and another greige room—it’s a windowless box and needs some love. I am still playing around with ideas… Thinking about this wallpaper!!

Flower Boxes

Andrew and I recently hung a hummingbird feeder on our second-floor balcony. We haven’t seen any traffic and think it’s because we chose a neutral-colored feeder—hummingbirds are attracted to red. I’d like Andrew to build some railing boxes (like this!) to house a bunch of bright red flowers and greenery to help attract some sweet little birdies!

Island Pendant Lights

Our current glass lights are dust collectors!! I have been eyeing these pendants since our hardware will soon be brass—still waiting on the new brass pulls to arrive!

Pantry Upgrade

Remember when I was doing spring cleaning and daydreaming about a beautiful, custom pantry? I am still inspired but haven’t even come close to convincing Andrew that this is a need or dedicated any time to create a plan. Someday! Haha

Charcuterie Boards

Andrew has a few walnut boards and leftover ambrosia maple wood slabs from his bench project. He gave me the measurements and I created six charcuterie board shapes I would like him to make me from the extra wood slabs. So far, I’ve printed the templates. Printable PDF of the board shapes linked below—if you’re interested!
